I broke down and bought a Weber Q 2000 because I didnt have time to get my trailer modified so I could carry my full size BBQ with me.
I am not all that happy with this grill. First of all I grill alot and when I do I am grilling several types of food at once. Like Steak, Asparagus and maybe squash or artichokes. They all need differnt heat to come out properly cooked at the same time.
On my big Grill I could turn off a burner and have a cooler Warm area and I could still keep the grill at 700 for steaks. This is impossible with the little Weber. One big burner on all the time.
And the difference between High setting and Lowest is very small.
I have tried to do a couple of slow things and it hasnt worked well. Food comes out overcooked on the outside layers and still not done on the inside.
I think to have success with slower cooked foods you need a way to get it up off the grate.
I think its a great grill for hamburgers and hot dogs. But for producing more complex and nuanced food it falls short in my opinion.
