Some buddies and I headed out for some crabbing and rock fish this past weekend and both categories cooperated. We stayed at the Half Moon Bay State Beach campground. One of the guys that came along for the trip was a beef rancher so our surf & turf night included fresh crab and well aged filet mignon.

Dang that sounds so good!!! Save some for me, I'll be there visiting my family in Orland for thanksgiving!! LOL

Love crabs. But the way you catch them is just plain cheating! You need a stick, string, a chicken neck, and perhaps a small net. Stand in the surf and catch one at a time. Tastes much better after having to really work at it... ;-)

We've been on an Alaskan King Crab run for quite some time with prices from $9.99/lb to $12.99/lb. I can almost eat a pound myself!

we pretty much like all crab but the Dungeness is still our favorite.

Prices were/are great on the Oregon cost...this from Fisherman's Wharf in Charleston;

We had a total of 80 crab and 60 rock cod so I guess we more than paid for our gas for the trip.
