I cook chicken, Turkey, spaghetti meat sauce, beef stew, and lots of different soups ahead of our trips and either use food saver or good quality freezer bags and freeze everything flat, Then most everything stacks neatly or looks like books on a shelf. By the way where we camp is dry camping and we're gone for ten to eleven days at a time and cooking is made a lot easier when most of it is reheating. I also buy frozen dinner rolls and let them rise for a couple hours and pop them in the oven till Brown then you've got fresh bread to go with your meal. Hope this helps with your issue.
