Bacon Jam

I just discovered bacon jam about a month ago, and although I loved it as it was prepared with cream cheese for a snack spread, I am hoping some of you will be able to offer a few more ideas for using it.

  • Not all the sounds bad is bad. My DW makes a Horseradish Jelly, that's great put on Salmon then grilled.
  • Every once in a while I'll make some bacon jam (bacon, onions, garlic cloves, strong coffee, cider vinegar, brown sugar, maple syrup) and use it as a topping on BBQ'd burgers.

Hummmmmmmmm. Think I'll do that Sunday....just bought some thick sliced bacon.
Have to concoct some tomorrow so the flavors can meld overnight.

Good as a sauce on chicken breasts during last 15 mins. of BBQ'n

Mix it in with ground meat for a meatloaf

Whip up some eggs & bacon jam

BJLT Sandwiches (Bacon Jam instead of just strips of bacon)

Bacon Jam....good on just about anything. Come on it's BACON (and onions and other stuff)
  • I've been making something much like that for years from a recipe my Mother used. Only we call it bacon mincemeat, to differentiate from the traditional mincemeat that's usually based on beef.
  • My stomache turneth over..with rapididty. :)
There are just some things I won't attempt to eat, such as the guy that eats anything on TV eats and steak or bacon jelly or toe jam for that matter.
Where's the bacon and egg toothpaste?
