Fact: floor sweepings are always the cheapest. It's true for everything, not just coffee.
Also a fact, there are bazillions of small coffee roaster companies all over the place these days, all of which make better coffee than ANY of the "National Brands." Many, many of them are less expensive than $1.07 an ounce, particularly if you go to the roasters and buy actual 1 lb bags instead of those 12 ounce things. Our favorite local roaster sells most flavors for about $12 a bag -- at the grocery stores, they are 12 ounce bags, but at the roasters, they are 16 oz bags. Still not as cheap as your favorite brand, but not a bad price, considering.
