Boars Head hot dogs? A hot dog discussion.

So I love a good dog with natural casing. That great POP when you bite into it.

I do not like them grilled. Steamed please. Steamed buns too. Chili dogs when it's cold. Chicago dogs with relish, onions, mustard, Dill spear, tomatoe and sport peppers.
Cole slaw or plain ole mustard relish and onion is ok.
NEVER KETCHUP!!

I have to admit today that $7.50/pound gave me pause but they are worth it.

And it come out to about a $1.50 dog.
  • Try Hofmann's. They have just recently become available outside Central NY. I found some in Publix in Melbourne this winter. Also try the white hots, known as a coney.
  • Any dog will pop if cooked right. Do not let the casing rupture when cooking. Regardless of grilling or steaming, frying, whatever....
  • Hebrew National for me. But I really don't eat hot dogs very often. Onions, sweet relish and good mustard when I do. :)
  • I always bought National Hebrew dogs, but I really like Kirkland's dogs. They're not as spicy.
  • Sams Club $10.25 for 3 pounds! And these are our favorite too...

  • I think National Hebrew dogs have that pop, and they aren't quite as expensive.
