Boil in a ziplock omelet

Start a large pot of boiling water. Take 3 eggs in a ziplock and break up. Mix cooked bacon or other meat. Mix spinach and peppers and onions and any other wonderful ingredients all together. place the ziplock full everything in boiling water for approx 10-15 minutes or until the eggs/omelet is cooked your way. Once done, open ziplock and dump on plate.
Easy way to do an omelet.

  • I’m always on the lookout for food preparation methods to minimize the gallons of water needed to clean up.

    Thanks
  • This would be a good method when boondocking to cut power use, but still have a hot meal.
  • We use to do it when camping at the beach. It was great.
  • Not anymore than a plate of scrambled eggs does.

It works and is a great way to do this if in a large group of people and not everyone likes all the same ingredients in their eggs.. Gives them the chance to add whatever they want if you put all the stuff out and let them make their own bag and put it in the water.

Doesn't it come out looking like a blob?

Nope - more like a rolled up, solid omelet. Just don't use fresh mushrooms - when they release their liquid, the eggs get REAL runny......
