She must be going low and slow at smoker temps to take 45 minutes a pound. I'm a big fan of tenderloin but not so much of the straight loin. I've used a horseradish rub that I got from this site that tastes pretty darn good on a loin roast though.
I'm thinking it's a shoulder roast Dave.
Does sound good. Cutting a butt into you own roasts can save a lot of money.
