Venison Sauce Piquante.
Venison( cut into med. size pieces)
Smoked sausage ( same as above)
1 lg onion(chopped )
1 lg green pepper(chopped)
1 can tomato sauce
Season meat with salt and pepper.
Brown venison and sausage very well(till dark brown)
Add onion and green pepper. Continue browning.
Stir in tomato sauce. Continue browning.
Add water to completely cover and simmer till venison is tender.
Serve over rice.
So darn good. I have made this in crock pot and been very pleased. When done in crock I just toss all ingredients in (no browning) and cook on high. Very good but better stove top.
I usually cook up at pot of black eye peas to go along.
