We need a camp stove to cook meals on and I've seen the stove that has one burner for pots and the other side a grill and then the one with just two burners. Does anyone have any experience with using both and what would you recommend. We don't grill a lot but it might be because we don't own a grill, if we had one??
And what do you look for when you buy a camp stove? Are BTU numbers really important?
Thanks in advance.
Re: the quality part of yr query. I'm assuming you are planning to cook with propane so if I'm wrong just chime in:
I'd look for cast iron porcelain covered grates since they evenly hold heat whether you are grilling or heating foods up and are easy to clean. A clear path for any oil to run off whether it's a box or run off and an adequate amt of heat diffusers above the burners. The diffusers do a better job of determining how evenly hot the unit will get over the amount of BTUs. BTUs are more important in a home gas stove than on a propane grill since the 2 are designed differently.
I don't own any propane cooking units but have been known to cook over a friend's.
