When my boys were in scouts they would make chicken with stuffing. This can be done on a Weber, over a fire or in any oven (foil not required in oven).
Chicken with stuffing;
1 whole chicken
1 can Italian croutons
1 medium onion chopped medium
Olive oil
Ground black pepper
Salt
Garlic powder
Aluminum foil
1. Rinse and clean the bird inside and out thoroughly.
2. Coat inside & out with olive oil
3. Season inside and out with pepper, salt and garlic powder to taste
4. Stuff bird with alternating handfuls of croutons and onion
5. Wrap bird with aluminum foil, put on grill and cover.
6. Bird is done when a twist of the leg bone pops it out of it’s socket.
Melted butter , salt, pepper, flour and milk for the gravy.
The young men did all the work. Being a suburban troop not many had ever touched an uncooked chicken. After the first touch they sure had a lot of fun.
