Chicken and Beer

Was going thru the store today and found McCormick's White Belgin Ale seasoning....ran home. Mixed with Blue Moon Beer per directions and have two big Chicken breasts marinading in to now. Will grill this evening and report results. Best part of instructions was 1/2 cup of beer... leaving 2/3 bottle for the cook! Love cooking with beer!
  • Hmmm....maybe using a Lemon shandy with lemon pepper rub.... might work...
    Thanks Super Dave!
  • I'm generally not much of a fan of store bought spice mixes, but the Weber Beer Can Chicken spice is an exception. It is very good.
  • OK we had the Blue Moon Chicken last night. It was very good, I will repeat however I will cut back a little on the spice mix for the marinade. It was just a bit to peppery for me. Onward and upward. Now looking for a Salmon recipe using beer...any ideas??
  • love cooking with beer and wine! sometimes I'll even put it in the food.
  • I did a beer can chicken the other day for the first time. We had the inlaws over for dinner and everyone LOVED it. My wife made a rub(don't know what) and slathered it on. I used a beer from a local brewery(Adirondack Brewery Black Watch ale) and ran the grill at 300-350 deg for about 2 hours for a 6lb bird. The skin browned and crisped up really well and it was juicy as can be. I will definitely do this again in the near future. Forgot to take pictures but I can't post them anyhow.
  • Beer can chicken with seasoning salt on the grill is one of my favorites.

Certainly don't want to pour any beer down the drain...
