We roast our own in a air popcorn popper. Here is a sample of what we've tried:
1. Indonesian Sumatra Takengo
2. Mexican Terruno Nayarita
3. Colombian Supremo Popayan
4. Indian Monsooned
5. Congo Kivu Sopacdi
6. Ethiopia Yergacheff
7. Brazil
If you buy green coffee beans you can roast em yourself. There are no fillers and you know exactly what you are getting.
Some green beans are most flavorful roasted both light and dark. Toasting is not difficult. It only takes 5-9 minutes per batch.
There are so many types of beans we intend to use going forward.
Our personal favorites rank:
a. Congo
b. Colombia
c. Mexican
Have some different types coming. We will watch to see if anyone is interested in how they turn out.
PS. Have roasted while camping! What a smell to wake up to in the morning. I store fresh roasted beans in Mason or Ball canning jars with lids. Each morning for a few days, I burp the jars as they build up gas.
