Well, I hate to say it, but we are coffee snobs in our humble little trailer. I drink light roast coffee made strong. I use light roast beans from any local roaster coffee shop in what ever town we are driving through. I grind the beans with my hand grinder and put it through a French press maker. This approximates "Cowboy Coffee" when it is done, lightly filtered(through a screen actually) and pretty un-refined. My wife likes non dairy cappuccinos and that has been a bit of a struggle with a small trailer and usually not being hooked up to AC. Having said all that, I have no problem firing up a perculator(coffee snob that can't spell!) on the stove and stuffing it with Folgers or Maxwell House. The only rule I really have is "no dark roast". Light Roast Coffee has a nuttier flavor and more caffeine.
