Cost of beef
I'm sure this will vary with the news source, but I heard to expect a 45% increase in the cost of beef in US. Due to drought conditions. Coffee is going way up, too.

You might check out restaurant supply houses. We have a local one here in Boise and I seem to remember pork shoulders for about $1.50/lb or so. You had to buy a vacuum sealed bag of 2 (about 15 - 20 lbs). The last time I bought them, I smoked one and froze the other. I'm waiting for it to warm up a little more before I get a couple more for smoking.

Just bought 2- 8 lb pork shoulders from the market around the corner from me for $1.69/lb and I was peeved it wasn't still .99/lb, LOL.
Divvied one up to make Latin style roast pork, some strips of Shanghai roast pork and shredded pork. There are only 2 of us so that's enough meat for several meals. A lot of it went through the Food Saver and is now in the freezer.
The second roast (Latin style) went to the home of a friend who had a death in the family.
All the bones were retained to make stock.
Amazing how meat costs vary across the country.
