Crispy crust grilled pizza

If you like crispy crust pizza and have a grill, then you can create excellent pizza in minutes. My wife makes the simple dough, and we top with anything we like, for instance, Alfredo sauce and wok-seared chicken, or mozzarella, tomato slices, and fresh basil.

Roll out your dough to any size you like, then paint one side with olive oil - flip it onto your hot grill, then turn when it becomes crisp. As the second side is cooking, top with your favorite toppings and close the lid on your grill.

It will probably take some experimenting with time and technique, but once you master it, you will be hooked for life

  • What is cook time for these? We'd have to do a few of them and so I wondered if it was minutes to do one or more like a half hour.
  • Great idea. I've tried frozen pizzas on the grill with varying results. Usually calls for 13 minutes, but I'm still experimenting with the temps.
  • We do it all the time. I find the thinner the crust the better. I usually pick up a few at Big Lots.
  • Lovely looking tomatoes on those pies; the toppings remind me of Pepe's:).

Only about a minute or two on each side - we lift the crust with tongs until it is stiff and crisp, then load the toppings. Most fo our toppings are fresh ones that we like rather raw, but when we do something that requires cooking like pepperoni, beef, etc., then we cover the pizza so it is in an oven-like environment

The orange tomatoes were heirloom that we grew ourselves - they were absolutely delicious!
  • Damn that looks excellent! Gluten intolerance really, really stinks...I miss pizza!
  • I grill mine too, but use a pizza stone insert for my grill. takes about 5 min at 600 degrees.
