Crock pot in RV?

A crock pot is one of the best things to have along in the RV.

Make up the simple recipe in the AM then when the day is done a meal is ready,we even do it while running down the road.

Just put it in the sink, secure the top with a ball Bungie turn on the genny and when we arrive the meal is ready and as a extra there is the aroma of the amazing meal to come filling the cab.

My favorites are Pulled Pork and Crock Pot Lasagna.

Clean up is a snap when using.

Just put the left overs in a zip lock and throw the bag away,no scrubbing or mess just wipe the pot out with a wet cloth and put away.

Sure hope it is safe because we do it all the time. We carry two, a large one and a very small one.

Steel cut oats, an apple, cinnamon sticks and cook in the crockpot overnight. Breakfast smells wonderful in the morning.

the problem with a crock pot meal is that you smell it basically all day long. I can then eat the doors off the cabinets all day long. My wife is a heck of a cook and the aroma is all but too much to stand.....lol

The lid on my crock pot locks so I use it outside on a small table. If you use liners in the crock pot there's not much clean up either.

Sure, quick (prep & clean up) way to make great meals.

The only thing to watch is if it's hot and you are running the A/C and other heavy electrical loads. Make sure you aren't pushing over the 30amp cords limit (it's actually limited to 25amps even though the name says otherwise).

If it's hot we usually set up on a table outside, so the A/C isn't fighting the heat from the crock pot. This often allows us to use a secondary outlet on the pedestal so it's seperate from our 30amp outlet.

We use crock pot in our RV a lot. Like a couple of others, we use it outside on a samall table, on a separate circuit from our 30 amp service. Never had a problem. Enjoy!!!

Crock pots use very little current. Couple Amps on high.

We do up meals ahead and nuke them in the RVs built in mw. Faster and saves the cargo spot for something else besides a kitchen gadget. My wife nukes food in glass dishes because the jury is still out about chemical breakdown from cooking in plastic like those liners.
