P.I.G.s = Pie Iron Gatherings. Well played. Maybe you could suggest a special PIG competition at the DOGs. The people I've met at DOGs are friendly and always willing to help you out. They come from all walks of life and so far I've met park rangers, an astronaut, several bankers, military personnel (who introduced me to it). Then there are the old hippies, the cowboys, the college professors and plenty of others. Good food makes for good company. I'm glad to join the Cast Iron fraternity.

Have to agree with RayUSMC....people get excited about BBQ events, chili cook offs and lots more....why not get excited about learning how to cook things you never thought you could in such a versatile single pot. While I've only cooked a handful of things in my dutch oven, my DVR is set to record several shows around dutch oven cooking (Cee Dub's, Johnny Nix and Campfire Cafe). I enjoy seeing all you can make in them.

And yes I lik pie irons too.... wish there were some P.I.G.'s (Pie iron gatherings)...lol

X2. He's making similar bitter and weird comments in other threads. No one makes you read every thread wca01. Just give it a miss of you dont like firepit cooking or dutch oven cuisine.

I appreciate the Dutch Oven Gathering notifications too. We're just beginners but hope to make some DOGs along the way.

Diversity exists among RVers too. If you don't do DOGS don't read the posts. They're marked clearly so you can skip over them. No one is making you read them.

Dutch oven enthusiasts have cooking competitions like BBQ enthusiasts. Most of them also travel in RVs. The topic is perfectly appropriate to an RV forums cooking thread.
