That school lab experiment is very descriptive of the failure of the teaching profession to teach the scientific methodology correctly. The micro wave test takes apparent data and then guesses cause and effect. Nowhere does the teacher suggest that questioning the accuracy of the data is appropriate. I graded science projects in middle schools for several years and a large per centage of the projects would go to politically correct results by tacit acceptance of unrealistic data. Parents and teachers were more driven by completing the project than by questioning results.
