Egg Bake - scrambled style

Question

Gosh, I make this often. This is a typical egg bake without having to wait for the eggs to set. Quantities based on pan size.

SCRAMBLED EGG BAKE

Hash browns (thawed or pre-fry, either works)
Jimmy Dean's spicy sausage, fried & drained
Diced onions, mushrooms, peppers, etc.
Processed cheese slices (key ingredient)
Scrambled eggs
Shredded cheddar cheese
Diced tomatoes

Layer as above in sprayed cake pan, and just warm in the oven enough to melt the cheese, 15-20 minutes.

I'm confused by the "bake" part.  We eat this a lot but just do the skillet mix and serve.  The heat of the food melts the cheese or at worst, a lid on the skillet.  Does the baking change the consistancy?

We've used the Jimmy Dean sausage breakfast bags and only had to add eggs to the skillet.Looks like good recipe though...thanks.

Yeah, however you want to heat it just melts the cheese, unless you pre-make everything and need to heat it through.
