Electric Fry Pan?

I know that most of us have had an electric fry pan at some point of our lives. Got one back in the 70s, but really haven't used one in about 25 years. While snowbirding the past few years I feel that cooking certain things on the gas stove in our 5th wheel is difficult due to the high heat produced by the burners. They are hard to turn down to a less hot temp, especially when doing something like pancakes. BTW, I cook on electric at home.

Are any of you doing much cooking with your electric fry pan while camping? We're thinking of getting a new one and wonder if they've changed much in the past umpteen years. Any recommendations? Is an electric griddle an option?
  • Thank you all for all the great suggestions. Now I've got to do some research on some different appliances.
  • We use almost exclusive an electric griddle and skillet for breakfast. For lunch and dinner you use almost always a grill.

We have a older electric skillet from Wolfgang Puck($50 new) and the quality is great compared to some of the cheap griddles and it has a reversible top. The higher end skillet seem not to scratch as easily. I just priced it new and ours to replace would now cost $140+, ouch!
