I have two A-Maze-N Smoker tubes. One 12" and the other the expandable 9" and never had a problem keeping the pellets lit. I most use in the tubes their brand of pellets. I also have a Rec-Tec Pellet smoker and some times mix pellet brands and never with an issue.
