Being invited for dinner usually is fine with low expectations on the food. BUT, I'vr found that I'm a bit of a holiday dinner snob becaue holiday meals have so much sentimental memories attached to them. Becaue I've been bummed in the past by a bad holiday meal, I now ask my guests ahead of time what one of their favorite items is for that holiday. I want them to feel special so this had been a good way to insure the meal at my house was memorable (in a good way)
