If you forget the charcoal chimney

Hint

Check it at 1:12. He starts the coals by using an oil-dotted paper towel, as a wick in a pyramid of coals. He's using a little Smokey Joe silver grill.
I tried this paper towel method this morning, and it works like a charm.

Hmmm wondering if he used match stick ready briquets? I need more than the quick flame of an oiled soaked paper towel for lump charcoal. In the Smokey Joe line my personal fav is the Gold if nothing more than ash cleanup.
Last summer someone in my household lost the bag holding most of my grilling doodads and it was not pretty for them. Lots of bending over looking for old pine needles, twigs and dried pine cones to supplement the crumpled newspaper. Glad I wasn't the one who lost the bag....:W
