I'm craving....

Creamed eggs on toast. Isn't that nuts? Haven't had that in decades. My grandmother and mother used to make it. Nothing fancy, a white sauce, and sliced hard boiled eggs on buttered toast.
Maybe with a side of real (not canned) corned beef hash.
I had my last chemo cycle a week ago. Maybe it's got something to do with that....

    I might make it for lunch tomorrow. I don't know if my husband would eat it. Although he's usually game for anything at least once.

    Happy to hear you've finished chemo, and wish you the best of health...but you can keep the creamed eggs on toast! Happy trails!

    Glad you finished your chemo and are on the road to recovery. We also had creamed eggs over toast as well as the dried beef. I hope someone makes this for you and you enjoy it as much as you remember. Godspeed.

    Good, now you can start recovering your life.

    My mom used to fix dried beef in white sauce on toast for supper, and once in awhile she would add chopped egg.

    Yeah, full recovery from two cancers.
    Smacking myself on the forehead...... COMFORT FOOD! I should have recognized the craving for what it was, comfort food from generations past and simpler times.
