Induction cooktops - what is your experince in an RV?

Hi,

I'm working on a Truck Camper build and am considering an induction cooktop. I've been extremely happy w my home induction cooktop so naturally I'm very open to having one in the TC. There are tremedous advantages for an RV if the unit functions well. I do have a 110v induction hotplate and it has some deficiencies. I'm wondering if the RV induction cooktops would be more like the home units or the hotplate.

Thanks - Paul

If yes and you like induction cooktops, it can be a good option.

If you need to crank up the generator, I would prefer propane.

I prefer propane anyway for the instant adjustment.

I run the NuWave on my pure sine wave inverter. No propane for cooking in the last 5 years.

Then you need a fairly robust solar/battery system to feed it. The OP didn't mention a large solar/battery bank system.

400 watt solar, 2000w inverter/charger, 2 100 Ah LiPo batts, Honda 2200 gen backup.....travel would be mostly central Idaho in late April through November, skipping the July, August, and September peak camping seasons.
