While it isn't in my dialogue, people down here often say "please" when they doubt the truthfulness of a statement. Not calling it a lie, but "far fetched"?

As a Cincinnati native, I've attended several "Octoberfest Zinzinnati" celebrations. Three blocks long right in the middle of downtown Cincinnati for 3 days. This year, its September 19-21. Many years ago, German immigrants settled in Cincinnati north of the Central Canal (now Central Parkway). That area was soon known as "Over the Rhine". They brewed beer and kept it cold in caves dug into the hills above the downtown area. Sam Adams brewery is making their several branded beers in the traditional way that those Germans did, except for the caves. One of my several summer lobs from college was at Schoenling Brewery. There also was Hudepohl, Burger and Moerlein, to name a few. When I started college at Univ. of Cincinnati in 1964, There was still a german language daily newspaper.

We have had an extremely mild summer so far, coolest July in almost 15 years. August, however, appears to be trying to make up for June and July - low to mid nineties, which is close to average, with south-west to southerly wind have returned us normal humidity, ie 90-92 degrees with heat index around 100.

I will say the repeated brief cool spells, with wind from the north and much lower humidity for June and July was greatly appreciated.

Have you not heard of "Christmas in July".

Don't mind the stuff for the next season coming out early so much but eliminating stuff that is still IN season really irritates me!

Hobby Lobby has Halloween and Christmas stuff up right now...

I was in my local Dollar General today and they were setting up their Halloween candy aisle. It's THREE MONTHS away! It shouldn't be allowed until Oct. 1st.

And -- "Back to School" sales have started! At least we can ignore those. (Well, most of us can.)
