- PGR_SkyeExplorerI have an apple peeler that isn't as fast as that one, but don't think I could afford that or that pineapple peeler. I bought a pineapple peeler, corer, slicer for about $15 and love it. You can use it for just peeling and coring and spears as well. And neither one of them take up much room for storage.

Why do people peel potatoes?
Sometimes I like creamy mashed potatoes and sometimes I like them with just a little peel in them.
I cut ours in half or thirds, depending one the size, and boil them. I then run them through a ricer, skin and all. The potatoes come out and the skin stays in, it's so easy it's a surprise it isn't illegal.
I also make spaetzle with it once in a great while and you can use it for ricing squash for soup.
