I agree with you on this to a point.
The only reason I own one is I had a $100 Amazon gift certificate to burn. I doubt I would have ever owned one if I had to pay full price. DW and I decided to splurge a little and apply the certificate towards the Q. We are happy we did.
Now that I do own one if/when it needs to be replaced I will certainly replace it with the same, at full price if necessary.
