Pizza Stone Question

I won't be using a pizza stone but a large square unglazed tile. My question is:

Where in the oven do I place it? On the very bottom in the RV stove, or on a rack? Then, where do I place the dish I'm baking? I have the standard Atwood/Wedgewood RV oven and whatever shelves/racks came with it as standard.

Thanks!

  • I figured that the tile would sit on the bottom on the stove, so it's a good thing I asked!

  • I use use 4 8x8 unglazed tiles placed on the metal above the flame secret is to preheat only burned biscuits once when I left them in too long. I do use the oven a couple times a week.

I do not know if it's correct, but my tile is on the metal plate on top of the burner/ igniter, below the racks.
Makes sense in order to distribute the heat evenly. Seems to work, but I am curious now as to where it's supposed to go !?

x2 this where mine is. I also have airbake cookie sheet on top the rack that I place what ever I am baking on. Might seem like over kill but I never have burnt bottoms on my baked goods. Takes longer to preheat the oven.
