If I have a campfire available I put them in and get them extremely hot. Then cool down enough to put some water and back on the fire to boil with some dish soap. Rubber gloves and scotch brite or brillow pads should do the trick. When done I put a coat of oil inside and out and put close to the fire to get very hot again. Allow to cool gently.
