Amen!
July 4th Baconalia
In addition to the bacon apple pie, herself will be making a variation of this bacon wrapped meatloaf and will include shredded sharp cheddar and chopped jalapeƱos in the mix to be baked in a Dutch Oven on the campfire.
http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/09/my-favorite-meatloaf/We will also have wilted spinach salad with bacon drippings and apple cider vinegar dressing (cranberries, chopped figs, and hard boiled mixed into the spinach).
The family will also bring their own bacon themed dishes including but not limited to, chocolate dipped bacon and fruits.
For July 4, 2016 we are having a cheese-themed feast. Herself said she'll make the same meatloaf again but with a little more cheese: she sticks with what works! Good Woman!
One daughter-in-law who started into Dutch Ovening last year will be making a cheeseburger meatloaf with ground turkey, ground pork, and spicy veg.
Howzzat for planning ahead Super D? The family is getting large enough that they want to practice their dishes for the annual family reunion feast. We usually meet at a state park in the middle of locales so the grands can hike and bike. Last year we met at Petit Jean in AR. This year will be a Georgia SP.
