Sour Dough
Good time of year to make bread, usually sour dough.The worst bread i ever made is better than store bought.Use a bread machine,cost about 40 cents a loaf.

Takes about 7 days to make a starter, mix bread flour yeast and water about like pancake batter.put a loose lid on it, every day add flour and water and mix. After a few days it will start to smell sour. Cheap, bread cost about 40cents. I use a bread machine. But have used the bread machine to make dough.At room temp feed it every day,in ref about every 3rd day.
