Your tri-tip sounds delicious old guy! Living in the midwest, we had never heard of it either until some dear friends from Cali served us the real genuine Santa Maria BBQ. It consisted of some sort of delicious beans, seasoned and slow grilled tri-tip and buttered and lightly toasted french bread- heaven! I could eat that meal everyday.
