I agree. Tri-Tips and Briskets are not similar at all and their cooking methods and internal temps (IT) are so different. Tri-Tip IT is usually 130º-150ºF and Brisket is usually 195º-205ºF. Tri-Tips are seared and then cooked at higher heat while a Brisket is cooked Low-and-Slow for up to 16-24 hours ... but they're both good!! :B
