tri tip

we just had the best tri tip I have ever eaten the other night. I used my vacuum sealing machine , a big bottle of sweet baby ray's BBQ sauce, so treager beef seasoning, and my treager smoker. I took the vacuum sealer and pored in the whole bottle into a bag, put in two tri tips and 8 lbs total, and sealed the bag. put it into the frig for a few days for the meat to marinate, put the meat in the smoker fat side up and set the smoker to smoke for 5 hours. then we put on the treager beef seasoning and let it smoke for the five hours and then removed the meat and put it on a big sheet of foil, added 1/2 cup of water, sealed the foil and set the treager to 350 for 45 minutes. say what you want about treagers, but this turned out so tender and tasty, I can't wait to do it again. Last night we made home made stew, this stew is to die for. more on that one later. the tri tip recipe is posted on treagers web site.

Good Tri Tip's hard to beat. It's very common in California, but unknown in other parts.
  • Your tri-tip sounds delicious old guy! Living in the midwest, we had never heard of it either until some dear friends from Cali served us the real genuine Santa Maria BBQ. It consisted of some sort of delicious beans, seasoned and slow grilled tri-tip and buttered and lightly toasted french bread- heaven! I could eat that meal everyday. I just recently found a local butcher shop who will cut me tri-tip,so excited to get me some!
  • It has shown up here in the last couple of years, but I haven't tried it yet.
  • THIS is a Tri Tip

It is mostly found in the west, in the central coast of California and other western states.

Very Tasty if done right...........And this sounds Good and I have done A Lot of them..
