I'm not a turnip eater BUT if I wanted to cook them my choice would be to pressure cook them. Probably in the 20 minute range and sliced, you would need to experiment with time. I cook a lot of veggies in my P cooker. Quarter a head of cabbage and in it goes! P cooking keeps the flavor without watering it down. (I'm waiting for the background checks to start on Pressure Cookers.)
