Wendy's Frosty recipe

A friend share this with me, so I'm doing likewise! I've not tried it yet, but sounds good and best of all, EASY!

1 can sweetened condensed milk (Borden's Eagle Brand, etc)
1/2 gallon chocolate milk
8 oz. Cool Whip

Mix all together and either freeze in ice cream freezer or bowl/pan in refrigerator freezer. (I wonder if you would need to double amounts for ice cream freezer??)

Enjoy!
  • Yes, exactly that. Guess I didn't catch the part where the mixture had to keep moving. Think I'll let my crystally version thaw, then pour a little in my teeny tiny ice cream mixer. If I fail again, I'll start over and do it the right way. Seems worth a little trial and error.

Not exactly sure how you made this in a plastic pail
Did you mix the ingredient and put the pail in a freezer?
It is designed to be made like all ice cream-in a ice cream maker/mixer that rotates the mixture as it freezes to add air and THAT keeps the crystals down
Please respond as I want to know all I can about making this
    Thanks,Mike

It's made with my 3 favorite ingredients: sugar, sugar, and sugar, how could it possibly taste bad?

  • Followed the recipe today (Labor Day)
Made exactly one gallon, took 50 mins to completely set at 85 degrees
Not quite as sweet as regular ice cream but we did NOT use chocolate milk
Does taste just like a Frosty and flavoring goes on top well
    :) :) :)
  • Well the wife and I made this last night. It tatsed great. But using that amount made way too much for just the two of us. It filled a giant aluminum bowl. At least now I have ice cream for the next few nights...lol
  • I have one of those Cuisinart ice cream makers where you freeze the bowl first. I'm interested if anyone has used this recipe in that kind of ice cream maker.
  • If anyone try's this please post how easy/hard it is to freeze in an ice cream maker as oppose to regular recipe ice cream
    Thanks,Mike
