We have done it all with meal-preparation. Usually our first night is ready-made since we're tired from driving/set-up.
If we are visiting folks, we end up going to dinner or eating at someone's home. I like to bring wine or buy a nice loaf of bread. Sometimes I make my Evil Death fudge at home, and package that up. Depends how much I like the people we are visiting! ;)
If we are just chilling- get out of the way. I break out the grills, Dutch Ovens, propane, charcoal, smoking chips, etc.
French toast, pancakes, bacon/ham & eggs with buttermilk biscuits in the morning.
Afternoons can be soup, chili, steak or chicken on the grill, sausage, fruit/green salads, grilled vegetables, cornbread.
Sometimes we smoke a Butt on the PK oven/smoker/grill.
We drink coffee, tea, water. Avoid soda/alcohol. We save the calories and cash for the food!
