Favorite hard liquor - Dewar's Scotch with a splash of water. 2 reasons - Scotch is an acquired taste so folks that show up with nothing but a thirst usually don't like it, and water is a generally available mixer.
Beer - 2nd choice is any other beer. First choice is Batch 19. Not generally available yet because its new, but worth the hunt. Miller produces it from a recipe that was created pre-prohibition. Tasty.
