Which portable induction cook top??

I am sold on getting a portable induction cook top. Only question is which one?

There is a pretty wide range of prices and manufactures. Are the higher priced ones worth the difference? Which maker/model?

  • I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and used the 20% coupon....I got the NuWave 2. Have not used it yet....it came with one skillet.
  • Got a 20% off coupon for Bed, Bath and Beyond today. Just ordered the NuWave II.

    Thanks everyone.
  • We have the nu waves. I wish they had quieter fans though. They really make a lot of noise.
  • As with all electrical appliances, the wattage draw determines performance capability. Do some research and make a choice based on your cooking capacity requirements and the budget. I have seen non-commercial IC's with wattage ranges from 800W to 1800w. There was also a recent thread on this subject on this board. The Nuwave was highly touted.

  • We have 2 NuWaves and I have no real complaints. I have to point out though that my experience ends there. We've had a NeWave oven for many years and it has worked great so I had some confidence in the brand.
  • Hi the bear II,

You could "cheat" and put the largest pan that does work on the cook top. Then put a non working pot on top of that.

We have an extensive selection of pots and pans in our RV. My DW decided to buy a induction cooktop from QVC. We were only able to use two of the pans out of all that we carry in the RV. The others were not compatible with the cooktop.

So keep in mind you may need to get the correct type of pots and pans.
  • I just bought the NUWave II and it really seems to be a great machine. I got mine at Bed Bath And Beyond with a 20 percent off coupon. Holds temps well and is adjustable.
