Best? Route to Grand Isle, La

Googled route from marksville,la to grand isle. Shows turning right off HyWy 90 at Raceway and then south to park. Looking at sat view it shows going south on HyWy 308 until intersection with HyWy 1. It appears that HyWy 1 runs almost parallel with 308 except other side of canel. My question is is there a difference in road or what? I am driving a 26' Class C. Am going sometime early december. Thank you in advance for your help!

    My BIl's mother is in the hospital, so no answer.

    Highway 1 has speed limits that are like 35 mph. Stop signs too.

    LA 3235 to route 1 and stop at the Walmart @ Galliano for fuel and last minutes supplies, your shopping choices on the island are expensive. Route 1 all the way along the canel is seinic, and 380 if you miss a turn to route 1 can be a problem.

    My BIL's family has a camp on grand isle, so I just shot him a message. Will respond when he does.

    Maybe he is going for a fishing trip. I actually like grand isle. I like that there is nothing to do there after dark. We went fishing, rented a house with a boat slip and my nieces and nephews played with hermit crabs. We put out crab traps and went fishing from the canal day and night. It was a pretty awesome family trip.

    As for the roads, one is like a bypass. The other is the old road. I can't remember which is which.

    We lived in Lockport for 6 years. Do you REALLY want to see 'Grand'Isle? Not much there.

    Do not SPEED; there is a toll bridge to get onto the island, I think you have to buy pass at a roadside store before bridge.

    Use Hwy 1. Notice 308 stops at Golden Meadow. Do not exceed speed limit.
