Carters Cave KY Trip

We decided to head a different direction on our trips this summer and have been heading down into KY. We camped at Carters Cave and had a great site/time camping with multiple friends. We had great weather with low 80's most days and we went on multiple hikes and cave tours. It doesn't get much better than that :B

Rig loaded up and ready to roll

Campsite

Favorite spot of quite a few this weekend

Since there was so many I brought the smoker and we had smoked pork shoulder, smoked chickens, and smoked fatty's (green peppers onions and cheese rolled up in sausage which is then rolled up in a bacon weave)

Pretty place. Thanks for the photos.

Well they appear to be keeping the cost of camping a secret.

Site with electric and water is $28 per night. You have to click on reservations and select a site for the price.
  • Very cool! We spent a week not too far from there last year, in the Red River Gorge area. We didn't camp though.
  • We went to Carter Caves for the first time this summer, too, and LOVED it! It rained the whole time, which thankfully didn't affect the caving. But we didn't get to hike enough, I want to go back! It was gorgeous!
I also love Natural Bridge, Red River Gorge, etc...that part of KY is jut gorgeous!
