Wife and I are looking to make a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks in mid October with our 10 year old grandsons. Looking for places to camp and things to do. Any advice or ideas are appreciated.
We always camp at the Lake of the Ozarks State Park. There is a small marina where you can rent boats, nice paved pads and roads, trails, a trail for bikes, fishing, ranger programs, deer. You can pay to ride horses on the trails. There is a State Park cave that you use lanterns and is very reasonably priced. We have not done the cave. The swinging bridge is nearby. A ton of activities up on Rt 54 through Osage Beach.
We stayed at Harry S Truman State Park a few years back and really enjoyed it. They have some sites that had water views, walking paths and a large marina. I believe you can rent boats there as well. Several things to do in the area. We had family that we were visiting in Warsaw, MO, so spent quite a bit of time there as well.
