Yellowstone

My family is thinking about going to yellowstone this summer (2015). Our trailer is 40' long so I understand spots are limited in the park for that size. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go that can accomodate a trailer that size?
  • We stayed at Yellowstone Valley Inn RV park between Cody WY and Yellowstone. 32 miles to Yellowstone and about 18 miles into Cody. Don't miss the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody.
  • Easy. Search this Forum for Yellowstone in the RV Parks section. We stayed at Grizzly.
  • We stayed at Yellowstone's Edge RV park, (it is located approx 30 miles north of northern entrance). This park was 1st class in every aspect in our opinion.
A little over a year ago, we went on a 8000+ mile trip that lasted for 6 weeks.
DW & I agreed that this park made our "top 5" spot in our long list of RV parks for this trip.
We had no trouble parking our 34ft 5V, (there were much longer rigs than ours parked there also).
  • We stayed at West Yellowstone KOA. Nice park if you have kids. Indoor pool and a nice playground.
  • what type of hookups do you want. that will determine which if any parks within yellowstone are useful.
    bumpy
  • We are going to Yellowstone National Park in July, 2015. In about July of this year I read on this forum that camping sites for next year were filling quickly. I immediately checked and learned that one campground (Canyon I think)was already reserved for sites long enough for my 34 footer. I was able to make reservations in Fishing Bridge RV Campground. For a rig your size you should make reservations now even if it is in West Yellowstone rather than in the park.
  • Fishing bridge has 40ft sites, as well as the commercial Parks in west Yellowstone - Grizzly is very nice

Colter Bay Village RV Park in Grand Teton Park has "$67 for a pull through site (no length restriction)"
