A way to carry your fence

I got tired of lifting up two X-Pens into the back of the camper and tying them down - not to mention having to trip over them if we stop on the road.

I put a front hitch receiver on the front of the truck and got a bike carrier. Removed the tiedowns for the bikes. The fences slide onto the poles that were to support the bikes, then using a ratcheting tiedown, I tie the fences back to the tow hooks on the front of the truck.

Dont have to lift the fences up four feet any more to put them in the camper!



I carry two of the fences - but only one is pictured above. I will probably trim the excess length off the poles.

In case you are interested it is a Allen 2 Bike Carrier Hitch that I got off Amazon.

    We ended up with a configuration like that on the old MH, after fiddling with several other methods. First time we used it I treated myself to a very nasty bruise on my upper arm :o

    The old Bounder is gone and we are looking at getting a TT soon...we will be using DH's daily use pickup as the TV, I'll never get him to agree to put a hitch receiver on the front, so we'll probably end up carrying them in the bed of the truck.

    While I don't need a carrier like that the cones are a fantastic idea to prevent someone from running into them!

    That's exactly what you will see on ALL the trucks that are towing trailers at the dog shows. They actually have a guy that welds holders like that just for expens.

    I have my expens on a bike rack out the back of my MH on the bumper. And you are right it sure IS REAL nice to just walk up to them and take them off.:C

    When I am going to shows I add a cargo carrier to my Toad to put the extra expens on.

    I put the cones on it when parked now for me and for the safety of other campers. Especially at night.

    That's a great set-up you got there. I'm gonna show it DH. We need to buy an X-pen for Tiki and I wondered how we were going to tote it with us.
