Another So Cal dog water rescue, yay!

We watched this live on TV yesterday, biting our nails as the poor dog swam for his life and tried to keep his head above the waves. Our fire fighters work as hard at these as operations as they do if it was a person needing rescue. In fact, they say these canine incidents are great practice for the occasional human misadventure. This is, by the way, what happens when L.A. gets .25" of rain!

  • After waiting the legal amount of time, with nobody claiming "Lucky" the lady who reported seeing him in the river has adopted him. There was a list of people who wanted him, but she had first rights because he would not be alive without her. Hopefully, all those other people will look around the shelter and find another new friend.
Lucky gets a new home and a second chance.

Cool story! Wonder where his owner is?

That's what's odd. Nobody has claimed the dog, although he was wearing a leash and collar. He had no tags or microchip. He's a good, friendly dog and there's already a list of people wanting to adopt him.
  • That was a miracle for sure. Hope the owner make brownies and cookies for that station that responded for years to come.
