BCSnob?
Mark and Renee, I hope things are getting back to normal for you. Did you get to do your seasonal lamb sales?

Clayton and Joe head to their new (wonderful) homes Friday night.
We had an issue with our lambs last week; it was our fault. Due to Sam's wandering off the farm looking for hunting leftovers and carcasses and his past attacks on our new chickens he has been on a drag line (10' cable pulling a weight). This has prevented more chicken losses and his wandering. We've been weaning lambs with these lambs and adults with younger lambs grazing in a field near the woods and the ewes we're drying up in a field near the barn. We were concerned about Sam getting his drag line stuck along the woods so we were not putting him with the part of the flock in the field by the woods. At the end of last week we found the carcasses of 7 lambs in the field by the woods likely killed by coyotes. We may have lost more but won't know until we check every ear tag on the lambs. We can’t blame Sam since we were not allowing him to do his job. Sam is now loose. He went around and left messages to those that were trespassing on his farm. We can hear him at night letting them know he is on duty.
What a waste.
Stupid shepherds.
We’ll have to alter how we’ve been managing Sam and our chickens.
