Ginger, one of our American Eskimos (lost her in July) started having seizures about 3 years ago. At first, she only had them when we took her to the groomers (we think it was excitement that caused them). She would be fine until she got inside the door and then collapse. They were about 6-8 weeks apart. Last fall, she had one at the groomers, but then had a couple that evening and another the next morning. We took her to the vets the first night and they started her on phenylbarbitol. She would be dazed for a few minutes after the seizure, but then seemed fine. Once the seizures started becoming more often, she seemed more lethargic. Even after we started her on the medication, she didn't rebound completely. She seemed to have lost her will to live and just gave up. She was almost 11 years old when we lost her.
