Cat hair in the RV?

We travel with our 3 furboys. I have a Dyson vac too which does a good job with the fur. It's no different than home. They love to travel and we love being with them. They don't go outside, they stay indoors and prefer that. If we do take them out they are on a leash.

Do what I do, just ignore the fur. Well, until it banks (collects) high enough in the corners to make fur balls.

Good point. In my S&B they mostly do that outside, and I have smooth, uncarpeted floors. Part of my concern about cats in the van is that so many of the surfaces are fabric, carpet, etc. Sticks to the fur, and as you point out, harder to clean the barf out of, too.

The beauty of an RV is that it's small footprint makes "defurring" faster, IMO?

My Cattle Dog had porcupine quill-like fur: once embedded, it only migrated deeper. I had the best luck with a rubbery sponge-like block that helped pull the hair back out and rolled it into a wad that could be picked up. In a pinch, a wet terry washcloth also worked at rolling up the fur. But I also found that polar fleece worked like a magnet with dog hair: I covered my furniture with polarfleece throws that matched the decor - when they got too furry, I washed and dried them. That helped a LOT.

We used to travel with a cat, miss him. He thought he was a dog more than a cat. We put a harness on him and took him for walks, he rode on the center console of the truck and while parked hung his head out the window. As for the fur it is part of being owned by a cat or dog. Just vacuum a little more. We no longer travel with a cat, the 4 of them stay home and party while the dogs are camping.

Saw on one of the early morning shows yesterday they used a squeegee to get up pet hair worked better than a lint roller.

Sasha was sleeping on the dash while we were parking in a campground. Three teenage girls stopped in front of the bus and were talking about her. Really surprised them when she sat up and blinked at them! :B

Chloe, the Siamese, is a little skittish, so won't sit on the dash even in a campground. Here's a picture of her just so Sasha doesn't get all the kitty love:



Both of these cats go everywhere with us, including Alaska last year.

I have Big Dog but the issue is the same HAIR.

I travel with 4 cats. To quickly corral cat hair, I dampen my hand and wipe the couch, chairs, or whatever needs cleaning. Gets up the hair faster than anything I've previously used. I rinse the hair off my hand and continue until the object is all clean.
